Lamar “Joe” Joseph Pate

Passed into Eternal Life on Friday, June 4, 2021, at age 77. Beloved husband of Jill (née Stuck) for 39 years, who survives him.

Joe was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin to the late Lamar and Margaret (née Fischer) Pate. As a child, his father was in the Army, stationed in numerous bases in the United States, Europe, Greenland, and Japan. They settled in Milwaukee, where Joe attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, became a CPA, served in the Army Reserves, and had a CPA firm. On September 26, 1981, after an eight-year courtship, he married Jill. Joe was passionate about history, genealogy, and the research that went into it. His family benefited through his rich stories about their ancestors. His Victorian home was his expression of love and enjoyment. He loved antiques, dinner parties, and sharing conversation.

He is also survived by his sisters Colleen (the late, Thomas) Ott and Karen (John) Waraksa; nephews, Thomas and Robert (Elizabeth) Ott, and Joseph (Heather) Cattani; great-nieces, Phoenix Ott and Harper Cattani; brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Veronica) Stuck; sisters-in-law, Penelope (Erwin) Schwiebert and Pamela (Joseph) Suskay; Jill’s nieces and nephews; along with cousins, family, and friends.

Visitation Will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Catholic service will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021, 10:30 AM at Krause Funeral Home, followed by a 12:00 PM burial service at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7301 West Nash Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
