William J. Sama left a message on November 3, 2024:
I first met Tom Lied when we moved to Wisconsin from the East Coast in 1991. Tom was my first boss here and I worked as his personal assistant. I thought I knew a lot about landscaping, but I soon learned that was not the case. Tom was so knowledgeable and working with him was like going to college again. But as much as I learned about the profession, I learned even more from Tom watching him interact with his clients, employees, and especially his family. Being good at what you do is important, but being a kind and decent man, that treats others the way they wish to be treated is even more important. I will always be grateful to the lessons on life that Tom taught me through his fine examples. Working & getting to know him was such a privilege. Thanks for all the great memories, Tom! You will definitely be missed.
