Thomas A. Smolko, 65, passed away suddenly on April 25, 2025. Born on February 28, 1960, Thomas lived a life defined by commitment to his family, country, and community.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean, and their three sons: Alan, Christopher (Amanda), and Alexander (Ashley). Thomas was a proud grandfather to Sophie and Quentin, and a cherished brother to Paulette. His warmth and steadfast presence will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ann, as well as his sisters, Patricia and Sharon.
Throughout his life, Thomas served with honor in the United States Air Force and continued his dedication to public service through a long career with the U.S. Postal Service. He was also an active member of the American Legion, where his spirit of camaraderie and leadership touched many. His friendships stretched far and wide, a testament to the kind, dependable, and generous person he was.
Thomas will be fondly remembered by many—fellow veterans, colleagues, friends, and all who were fortunate to share in his company.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Thomas’ name to the American Legion or Scouting of America—two organizations close to his heart.
