Tana M. Zawalich (née Fredrickson) entered into Eternal Life on October 28, 2024 at age 82. Preceded in death by her husbands Gerald “Jerry” Cvikel, and Anthony “Tony” Zawalich; her parents Oliver and Evelyn Fredrickson; and her brothers Gary (Nancy) Fredrickson and Jerry (Mary) Fredrickson.
Survived by her devoted husband Thomas “Tom” Kubic. Her sister Jan Hollero. Loving Mother of Sheri (the late Kevin) Maciolek, Tammy (Paul) Scheinoha, and Joan (Gary) Stamm. Proud grandmother of Crystal (DJ) Zak, Jeremy Maciolek, Kayla (Nik) Marko, and Courtney Stamm. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren: Peyton, Marleigh, Ayden, and Grayson, who affectionately knew her as “Gigi”. She is further survived by cherished nieces and nephews, family, and friends who will remember her with love and fondness.
Tana grew up in Waupaca, and moved down to Milwaukee where she met the three loves of her life. Tana was a certified nursing assistant at West Allis Memorial Hospital (now Aurora West Allis Medical Center) for 32 years on the OB/GYN and then Oncology Floor. After retiring, Tana and Tom moved to Sun City Arizona where she enjoyed line dancing, bowling, ceramics, and the pools at the Rec Centers. She loved game nights with family and friends which included playing cards, dominoes, and Alaskan Marbles.
Thank you for the kindness and caring of the Oncology Floor Staff and Imaging Department at Aurora West Allis Medical Center, Dr. Stephen Desidero, Dr. Chad Glisch, and Dr. Joseph Weber and the Pulmonary/Respiratory Staff. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice.
