Susan M. Retzlaff (nee Nieman) age 80, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday June 8th, 2025 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was born October 9th, 1944 in Oconomowoc to the late Clarence and Marguerite (Johnson) Nieman. She married the love of her life, Glenn Retzlaff, on April 27th, 1963 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. They shared 62 years of wedded bliss. One of her proudest accomplishments was raising three amazing children. After her youngest was of school age she started working for Kohl’s Department Stores. Where she retired after 37 years of dedicated service.
In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, crafting, her flowers, board games, puzzles, playing cards, going to bingo and the casinos. She really enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. Two of her biggest passions were cooking delicious food for her family and friends and hosting spectacular parties and holiday celebrations. One her fondest memories was being a member of a Wednesday night card club with her Butler besties.
She enjoyed being a wife and mother, but her greatest joy came from being a grandmother, great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother. She cherished every grandchild.
She is survived by her husband Glenn, her children, Greg (Chris) Retzlaff, Renee Retzlaff, Paul (Laura) Retzlaff. Further survived by her grandchildren, Gerry (Kristil) Ristow III, Jessica Briese and Nolan Retzlaff. Also by her great-grandchildren, Tailynn, Brayden and Reina and one great-great grandchild, Weston. She also was survived by many other relatives and friends.
