Steven K. Joseph

Steven Kurt Joseph, age 60, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2026.

Steven was born on February 23, 1966, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Julius and Dorothy Joseph. He graduated from Marshall High School and earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Concordia University.

Steven was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, entrepreneur, and friend. He will be remembered for his unique spirit and the positive impact he had on all who knew him.

A man of deep faith, Steven accepted Christ at an early age, becoming a lover of God’s Word and striving to be a man after God’s own heart. Steven often shared a simple truth that guided his life: “I know Jesus loves me.”

Steven’s marriage to Yolanda Chandler in 1999 led to the birth of their daughter and granted him the title he cherished most—Dad.

Steven loved to travel, but always knew Milwaukee was home and remained deeply connected to the city throughout his life. He took pride in supporting local businesses, discovering new restaurants, and investing in the people and communities around him.

Steven had many passions in life, from cooking and sharing meals with family to learning about different cultures, enjoying walks along the lakefront, and spending time in nature. Most of all, he was one of the Milwaukee Bucks’ biggest fans and always believed they were making it to the NBA Finals.

Steven took great joy in mentoring the young men in his life. Whether encouraging his nephews, offering advice to someone he had just met, or praying with those in need, he believed in helping others recognize their potential and make positive choices.

Steven’s greatest joy was being a father to his daughter, Temperance, whom he loved deeply.

Steven is survived by his daughter, Temperance; his siblings, Sharon, Valarie, William, and Brian; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, Julius Joseph; his mother, Dorothy Jones; and his stepfather, William Jones.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, Steven’s legacy of faith, generosity, mentorship, and love will continue through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He now rests in the presence of his Heavenly Father.
