I had Mr. Armin for hs chemistry at PE and I loved his class! Sometimes it felt as though his jokes were directed just to me, as I shared his humor. He made class a ton of fun while still learning a lot. He also took me to Costa Rica in 1997 and it really was a fantastic trip. We nicknamed him “Uncie Steve!” He was a teacher who will definitely be remembered as making class enjoyable.

Dawn, I want to offer my deepest sympathy. I was the principal at Parkview when Steve was there. I must say in my 34 years at Parkview, Steve was one of my favorite teachers. He was an outstanding educator as well as a great faculty member. His sense of humor was refreshing. His students loved him. He was a man of character. Steve would stop in my office from time to time and visit. I enjoyed those times. He made my job easier and more enjoyable. I considered Steve a true friend. May he rest in peace. John Abrahamson

I only met Steve online this year. Our interactions were never in person, but we shared a passion for writing and snarky comments. His emails brightened any day when they arrived. I quickly grew to enjoy his stories and his sense of humor, and it saddens me to think that the memoir he was writing may remain unfinished. My deepest sympathy to his family. May his memory be a blessing to everyone.

So very sorry to hear about the loss of Steve. I only knew him very briefly but I could tell he was dedicated to his family, his students and his memoir. Sadly, all three will miss him terribly. Andy Finley Critique Circle
