Having found her wings on April 13, 2026, at the age of 59. Stephanie is survived by her children, Steven (Brittney) Boucher, Allie Schmid, Nick Vana, and grandchildren Harper Rose, Chase Wyatt, Maurita Jean, Lucas John, Arayah Sunshine, Dominic James. She is further remembered by extended family, dear friends, former colleagues, and the many people whose lives were touched by her kindness, leadership, and compassion.
Stephanie dedicated much of her life to helping others grow, heal, and feel supported. For many years, she served in leadership roles at the Center for Creative Learning in Wauwatosa, including as Center Director, course supervisor, and Manager & Volunteer Supervisor, where she guided programs, supported staff, and helped create a space where people could grow both personally and professionally. Later, she continued her life of service as an Administrative Assistant at Jewish Home and Care Center, bringing the same compassion, steadiness, and care to those she served there.
Stephanie’s work as the volunteer coordinator for the Dare to Be Aware Fair was a tremendous gift to the community. Her love of events, organizing details, putting a special touch on directions, manuals, nametags, and more, were a big part of the Fair’s success.
She brought a similar touch to birthday parties, time with her grandchildren, managing the volunteer staff for the Center, and decorating for holidays (Halloween was her favorite!) – always showing people that they mattered, that they were valuable and loved.
Her earlier professional path also included counseling and youth outreach work, reflecting a lifelong commitment to service, encouragement, and human connection. Whether in formal leadership, behind-the-scenes support, or one-on-one care, Stephanie had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and supported.
Stephanie’s devotion to learning matched her devotion to others. She earned an Associate of Arts and Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Marinette, a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a double major in Psychology and Human Development, and a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
A private memorial service was held for Stephanie.
Stephanie will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, and the steady presence she brought to the lives of so many. Thank you, Stephanie, for giving us your heart!
Miss Me
When I come to the end of the road
and the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free!
Miss me a little, but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
miss me but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take,
and each must go alone.
It’s all part of the Master plan,
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart,
go to the friends we know
and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me but let me go.
