Shirley Helen Lash passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She entered eternal rest in the arms of Jesus.
Born on September 1, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, Shirley was the daughter of Axel Richard Beckman and Louise Albertina Beckman (Klann). On June 8, 1946, she married the love of her life, Geoffrey Elliott Lash (†). Together, they shared 61 beautiful years of marriage and raised six children: Brian (†), Chris, Dan, Ellen, Wayne, and Maureen (Prentice, †).
She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Angela, Genevieve (Willie), Donald (Donny), Phillip (Briann), and Cristin, and a cherished great-grandmother to Paxtyn, Royce, Juliette, Phillip Jr. and Harold.
Shirley had a successful career in banking and retired as an Assistant Vice President in the Investment Division of First Wisconsin (now U.S. Bank). In retirement, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures and the love of her family.
Shirley spent her final 22 years in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, where she lived a life marked by faith, kindness, and enduring love. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
