Shirley Ann Carr was born on January 23, 1952, in Helena, Arkansas. She was the 6th child out of 13 born to the union of Bill and Eula Wilborn. Shirley received her formal education at Eliza Miller. Growing up on Pillow Hill, she met her first husband Willie McKinney Jr. They married and welcomed their first son Randy McKinney in September of 1967 and then moved to Germany where her husband was stationed with the US Air Force. They lived in Germany until 1970.
They relocated to Milwaukee, WI that same year, where together they joined the organization of Jehovah’s Witness where they faithfully served as members of the Kingdom Hall. Shortly after they welcomed a second child, a baby girl, Tondra Mckinney in July of 1971. Willie passed away in 1972. She remarried in 1973 to Sylvester Carr. Together they welcomed her second daughter Kimberly Carr in June 1976. Shirley was an amazing mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
She enjoyed cooking, dancing, singing, and music. She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Eula Wilborn, husband Willie McKinney Jr, daughter Kimberly Carr, sons Leroy Carr (stillborn) * and Randy McKinney, grandson Bryan “BJ” Walls, sisters Bertha Cooper, and Dorothy Holloway, brothers Bill Wilborn Jr., Alfred Wilborn, Rufus Wilborn, and Thomas Wilborn.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory daughter Tondra McKinney; granddaughters Brandy (Jajuan) Perine; Orie’l McKinney; great-grandchildren Janiya Perine, Jajuan Perine Jr, and Jelaiya Perine. Sisters Grace (John) Sims and Ruby Rodgers. Brothers Joe (Linda) Wilborn, Michael (Betty) Wilborn, and Simuel Wilborn. Shirley also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. *Together Shirley and granddaughter Brandy named her stillborn around 2001-2002.
Visitation to be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at Krause Funeral Home. Funeral Service to begin at 1:00 PM. Interment Graceland Cemetery.
