Sally peacefully went home to be with her parents on June 11, 2014 at the age of 72. In mom's ever organized manner she of course wrote her own obituary below:
I left us at age 92, (I'm sure this guess is wrong, but I tried). She is survived by her 4 children that she loved so much and was so proud of. Steven Starker, Debbie (Ben) Christensen, Carrie (Mike) Ollis, and Kim (Todd) Prudlow. She is also survived by 9 beautiful grandchildren, Katie and Laura Starker, Josh, Anthony and Matthew Ollis and Meghan, Abbey, Will and Sarah Jane Prudlow and 1 great grandchild expected this September. All of these brought her so much happiness and joy. She is also survived by her "Good Old Girlfriends" (the GOG'S), from her high school time that remained those very special friends over all her years. This includes her "sister" Dr. Ingrid Kurz of Vienna, Austria, who brought so many smiles into her life. Also survived by other friends made over the years.
She was preceded in death by very special parents Mary Jane and Ray Trapp and dear friend, Rey Renteria.
Memorial Gathering at the Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Tuesday, June 17, 4:30 – 6:15 PM Memorial Service 6:30 PM.
Sally grew up in Fond Du Lac and graduated from St. Mary's Springs in 1960. She moved to Milwaukee to attend business college and remained raising her family there. She joined Traveler's bond department (formerly Aetna) in 1978 and worked there for 29 years until her retirement. During her years there she was fortunate to work with and become friends with some of the best people here and across the country.
She fought a good fight against lung cancer which, while not something anyone would want, did bring blessings into her life. Thank you to Dr. Raza who literally saved her life and gave her the time needed. A thank you also to the whole Pro Health Organization for everything they did for her. But the best benefit was the quality time she was able to have with her family and close friends, leaving with no regrets by anyone that we didn't say, "I Love You" – we did!
The family would like to extend a Thank You as well to the staff on the second floor Oncology unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. They took fabulous care of our mother and made a difficult time as easy as possible for us. In particular, Sandy and Todd who helped her smile.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society (800) 475-3002 or www. Cancer. Org.
