SALLY REED McGUIRE (nee REDDING) April 30, 1951 – March 11, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of our loving mother and grandmother, Sally Reed McGuire on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. We are grateful for the quality time and laughs we shared with her during these last couple of months by her side. We will miss you Sal!
Born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin and later moving to Milwaukee, she attended Madison High School, graduating in 1969. Sally and Richard married in 1983 and spent many years living on 51st Blvd in the wonderful Sherman Park neighborhood. There they enjoyed life with the boys just a half block from her parents, Pat and Jerry. Once the boys were grown, Sally and Richard moved from Milwaukee to Menomonee Falls, where they enjoyed the peace of the surrounding nature and the shenanigans of the local sandhill cranes.
As an avid golfer, Sally was a member of the Wisconsin Club and The River Club of Mequon. Sally was a valued office manager at Becker Machine for 34 years. As a testament to her hard work and expertise, she was the only non-family member to sit on the Board of Directors for the company. Additionally, she was actively involved in finance roles, on the Boards at the Wisconsin Club and her Prairie Walk Neighborhood Association.
Sally had many close, loving friends with whom she kept in contact weekly via 5 a.m. phone calls, book clubs, neighborhood gatherings, and dinners. Her friendship was cherished by many who will miss her animated storytelling, witty comebacks, and shrewd shopping skills. Sally loved all dogs, especially her cherished Lucy and Sasha.
Sally is preceded in death by her husband, Richard P. McGuire Jr., and her parents, Jerry and Patricia Redding. She is survived by her children, Todd (Cindi) Walter, Matthew (Angela) McGuire, Patrick (Jill) McGuire, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Further survived by her brother, Michael Redding.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Wisconsin Humane Society.
