Ruth E. Aspenson, a woman of profound faith and always devoted to her family, was welcomed into her Lord’s arms on October 4, 2022 at the age of 94. Ruth died peacefully surrounded by the love and care of her children.
Born in 1927 to Edwin and Lucy Gritzmacher. Married Norval Aspenson on October 5, 1956. Ruth and Norval filled their loving home with children Rachel (Glenn), Karin (Ludwig), Roger (Aspenson), Carla (Aspenson) and Kristine (Golz). Mother to five and grandmother (including great-grandchildren) to seventeen, her family was the pride and joy of Ruth’s life.
Ruth’s identity was found deeply in her profound faith. A proud member of her knitting group – knitting prayer shawls and infant blankets for members of her church and anyone that needed comfort. Also enjoyed being a member of a quilting group at church. Ruth so enjoyed her years participating, in any way she could, in Vacation Bible School – she most loved cuddling with the babies. Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter Carla and husband Norval. She was a wonderful role model and loving lady. She will be deeply missed – always will bring a smile to everyone’s face when remembering her.
Ruth’s family would like to thank the many caregivers from Vitas who helped her live a beautiful life for the past 3 years.
Visitation and funeral will be held at Brookfield Lutheran Church, 18500 Burleigh Road, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Thursday, October 20th at 4:30 PM (visitation) and 5:00 PM (service).
