Rosemary Loesche, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at her home in Muskego, Wisconsin. She was born on August 17, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Hans and Anna (Schiessl).
Rosemary graduated from Girls’ Trades and Technical High School in 1948 and began her career at First Wisconsin National Bank in 1949 as a clerk, retiring in 1992 as a manager in the Consumer Credit Card division.
Rosemary loved working with numbers, being in charge, keeping things organized, running football pools, scoring Dart ball leagues and always finding that missing penny when reconciling accounts.
She also loved to travel – and travel she did! Her photos and many trinkets were proof of more than sixty trips! Rosemary especially enjoyed going up north with family, sitting in the lake with her lawn chair, and taking pontoon boat rides. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing games and watching the Green Bay Packers (when they were winning). She went to the movie theater on Tuesdays and enjoyed taking her young grandnephews to the kid movies. At home, she loved to put together puzzles, earning her the nickname “Puzzle Lady.”
Rosemary was truly a people person – friendly, curious, and always enjoyed talking with others. She kept in touch through phone calls, visits, dinners and her annual Christmas cards, sending more than 100 each year, most with a handwritten note. She cherished her many groups of friends, co-workers and family. She was always doing something or going somewhere with someone.
Rosemary enjoyed eating, more than cooking. For 54 years, she had the best cook at home–her mother! After her mother’s passing, she supervised the family Christmas Eve tradition, making home-made Knödels (German potato dumplings). At Stair Crest, hot dogs became a new favorite food, which sparked much fun with hot dog-themed stuffed toys, t-shirts, hats, decorations and even a blanket.
A dedicated volunteer, Rosemary served for many years at St William’s Church in Waukesha, working on the counting team and helping at rummage sales. She was a Waukesha County Courthouse Greeter, receiving the Governor’s Service Award in 2021 for AmeriCorps Seniors – Volunteers with 20+ years of service.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Stair Crest for their expectational care, kindness, comfort and humor provided to Rosemary. A special thank you also goes to Legacy Hospice and the Stair Crest community of residents, including the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa for their prayers and companionship.
Rosemary is survived by her nephews Greg (Rebecca) Loesche and Mike (Janet) Loesche; her grandnephews Jon (Tina), Adam, Tyler; as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kurt Loesche, sister-in-law Dorothy Loesche, and many other relatives and dear friends. Our family is blessed with the knowledge that she rests with her heavenly Father.
Visitation from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM, with service at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, WI 53151. Interment on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery at 10:00 AM.
