Mom and Dad, I’m lighting this candle today to celebrate your birthday, Mom, and to hold close the memory of the year you’ve been gone. My heart misses you both every single day, but I find so much peace knowing you are finally back in each other's arms in heaven. Mom, I want to thank you specifically for the wisdom you had in choosing Dad to be your husband and our father. You knew that together, you could support each other’s strengths and balance each other’s weaknesses. It was that perfect combination that made you both such excellent parents, and I am so deeply blessed because of it. I want to honor your lives by living the way you taught me. I will continue to do my best to uphold your values of conviction, integrity, fairness, and equity, and I do my best to stand up against injustice in your honor. You are my strength and my steady light, and I’ll keep carrying that flame forward as best I can for you, always. Love, Mary

My Deepest Sympathy to your family. My husband was at Lakewood while your mother was there. He sat at the round table in the middle of the dining room with some other guys. All of the guys have gone to heaven including my husband. I like to stop and talk to Rosemary and she would tell me about her 5 daughters. She was so proud of all of you. Since I had 15 children I told Rosemary that three of my daughters also were named Catherine, Anne and Patty. Rosemary and I would talk about how we use to hang the cloth diapers on the clothesline along with all the other clothes. While talking to her I would rub her neck and upper back because she said it always hurt. She was always so sweet and kind. You are very blessed to have such a caring and thoughtful mother.
