Roland L. Keuler “Rollie” was born to Eternal Life on Friday, January 16, 2026 at the age of 92 as a result of complications from a stroke.
He was born on August 28, 1933 in Kiel, Wisconsin. He spent 6 years at St. Nazianz Seminary, then worked on the family dairy farm for a year before enlisting in the Army and serving in France for 2 years. Rollie married Shirley Johst, the love of his life, in 1957 and devoted himself to his wife and family for the next 68 years, instilling in his children the importance of faith, integrity and sound financial principles.
Rollie graduated from Marquette University in 1959 with a degree in Accounting, working first for Arthur Andersen and achieving the title Certified Public Accountant (CPA). The majority of his work life was spent at Weyenberg Shoe Manufacturer Co. where his career spanned 25 years and earned him the role of Vice President, Treasurer. He retired in 1994 and was still a favorite visitor at the Weyco Group Inc office.
Central in all of Rollie’s life was his Roman Catholic faith. He participated as and coordinated a team of liturgical readers and sang in the choirs at St. Monica Parish for many years. Over the years, he also served on various parish committees and, most recently, forged strong friendships with seminarians assigned to the parish on their journey to the priesthood.
Surviving Rollie are his loving wife, Shirley, six children Sue (Lindsey) Wallin, Cathy (Tim) Steding, David (Tina), Carolyn (Tod) Noltemeyer, Brian (Jen) and Bobbi Forman; 21 adoring grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; a brother Richard (Sharon), sister Sr Joneen and many nieces and nephews. His ready smile, firm handshake and gentle caring demeanor will be missed by his family and all who had the good fortune to have called him their friend.
Rollie was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Christina Keuler, his mother and father-in-law Frank and Loretta Johst, two brothers, three sisters-in-law and 3 nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Monica Parish at 5681 North Santa Monica Boulevard, Whitefish Bay, WI 53217 and School Sisters of St. Francis at 1501 South Layton Boulevard, Milwaukee, WI 53215.
