Robert Simon Pichler (89) went to his eternal resting place on March 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving wife and family in the Village of Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Bob was born in Butternut, Wisconsin on July 6, 1935 to Louis and Myrtle (Dougherty) Pichler. Bob was the 7th of 11 children growing up on a farm. Bob joined the Army in 1953 and went to Korea and spent time in Texas after the war. He was honorably discharged in March 1956.
After the Army he came to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and soon met the love of his life, Patricia Zagorski. They were married on June 21, 1958. As a faith-filled couple, Bob and Pat built a wonderful life together and were blessed with five children. Bob worked 35 years as a foreman at Bruch Brothers Construction in the concrete side of the business. Along the way he built multi-family homes and single-family homes. During the summers Bob and Pat would go to Butternut, visited with friends and family, played cards and Bob particularly liked Sheepshead. They enjoyed the outdoors, trout fishing, and deer hunting in the fall and cutting boughs for Christmas wreaths.
After Bob retired, he and Pat did a lot of traveling throughout the United States and went again to Germany. They would spend their winters in Texas and Florida enjoying the weather and activities these places had to offer. He also enjoyed planting his garden in the summers, his fruit trees that helped make many pies, and seasons of logging off their land in Butternut.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia, as well as their children; Bryan (Cindi), Clayton (Lisa), Julie (Gordon), David (Alice) and Jennifer who will never forget the love and laughter he brought into their lives. Their grandchildren and great-grandchildren include David and Kristen Pichler (Jackson and Hailey), Anna Pichler, Marie and Matthew Galarneau (Leopold and Lillian), Lucas and Bridget Pichler, Erika McKee (Finnick and Freya), Emily Herder and Ricky Veley, Tiffany Frank and Jake Schwabe, and Brittany Frank.
A special “Thank You” is extended to Horizon Home Care & Hospice for their excellent care throughout Robert’s time post diagnosis.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:30 AM at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 16000 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin.
