RaeJo Brown passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 84.
Adventurous mom of David Nelson and Willie (Annie) Nelson. Proud grandma of Aster Nelson, Josiah Nelson, and Matthias Nelson. Fond sister of Thomas (Janet) Brown. Further survived by her nephews Daniel and Darren Brown. Preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Dorothy Brown and her darling son Steven Nelson.
Rae was an inspired artist, published writer, poet, and devoted teacher of English and art. She moved and motivated many through the mediums of paint, clay, and writing. Of note is her depiction of Wisconsin poet Lorine Niedecker in her play titled “Renowned,” which was performed at the Hoard Museum in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Rae was also a devoted animal lover and was the caring owner of cats Jeepers, Bogie, Fargo, Zoe, Walker, Baby, Ruthie, Suzi, and Frankie.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM – 4:oo PM at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Service to follow.
