Oswald was born on May 18, 1928 in the Town of Wood, Wood County to Louis and Anna (Dempze) Mundt. He graduated from Pittsville High School in 1946 and served in the United States Army from 1950-1952, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. On August 20, 1955 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Lindner at North Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He retired from PH Harnischfeger where he worked for over 40 years. Oswald was a huge Packer and Brewers fan, never missing a game on TV. When he wasn’t working around the house or watching games, he could be found in his huge garden. In his younger years he enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his sons and traveling with Lorraine to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska and throughout the United States.
