Born into Eternal Life on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at age 94. He was a cherished and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. Loving husband to Joan for 70 years. Cherished father of children, William (Sue), Thomas (Susan) and Carolyn. Special Grandfather to Jacob, Amanda, Peter, Aurora and Kitri. Great grandfather to Alden, Cassidy, Boden and Ezra. Beloved brother of Dorothy. Proud father to Annie the Cockapoo.

Born in Milwaukee, WI, Bill attended Wauwatosa High School and graduated from University of Madison with an Economics degree. He had a long career in the banking industry where he worked as Vice President at Continental Savings and President of Reliance Savings and Loan. He served as a Boy Scout Leader and was the father of two Eagle Scouts. He was passionate about the outdoors and loved to vacation with the family in northern Wisconsin where he would fish, hike, and play golf. An avid bicyclist, he rode many miles each weekend. He also enjoyed taking the dog for a walk. He was raised in the Lutheran Church and participated in the men’s choir and volunteered as an usher and greeter. He had a strong faith in God.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield, on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 11:00AM to 12:50PM. Service to follow. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

The doggie play group of 96th St. say farewell to another of its "humans", Bill Held. Although no longer active, we "dog people" did meet for many years in all kinds of weather to socialize. Bill now joins his other "best friends" for a romp in Heaven. Condolences to the Held Family. We wish Joan Held - the love of Bill's life - all the best.

The Granberg and Bachhuber Family is saddened by the passing of Bill. Our prayers go out to Joan, Tommy and family, Carolyn, and the grandchildren, great grandchild and all of the family and friends that are feeling the lost of Bill. Bill is also remembered by the Bible Study that Bill and Joan were members of for more than 14 years. Bill is now with the Lord and is no longer in a wheel chair or his ill body. He has a new perfect body and is with our Lord and Savior. Genesis 3:19 "Dust you are and to dust you will return." So we bid our friend fair well for now and we shall see you again. May GOD be with the family and friends at this time. We know where he is and where we are going when we are walking with the LORD. You will be missed!
