Norann “Norbie” Kocher passed away on July 16, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has joined her parents (Elroy and Norma, nee Zimmel, Kocher), and brother (Bernell) she so dearly missed.
She was born in Milwaukee on March 23, 1949. After graduating from Custer High School in Milwaukee, Norann went to work. She always worked with something related to music, first at Record City, then Taylor Electric and finally Ness Electronics. A fan of all sports, she spent time bowling and playing softball, often stopping to play pool after a game. She also liked to have fun in her sporty cars (rolling the purple Plymouth Duster over into a ditch was one adventure). She would drive up north to her brother’s cabin, where it was always fun fishing and canoeing with friends (even that time in the rain).
Shortly after her mother passed away, Norann moved back to Milwaukee from Grafton to take care of her aging father. Given his headstrong disposition, and ornery will to be independent this was not always an easy task. It involved calls from the fire department, one from the police, as well as frequently having to turn off the stove, microwave, electric razor…
She loved her family, leaned on her brother, as her rock, and always wanted to know how her godsons were doing. The love of her life was her cherished and constant companion, Ruffles the Cockapoo, aka Ruffypoo, Rufflo, my baby, poodley-poo, etc.
Survived by her niece, Nancy Hauler, great nephews (godsons) Alex and Evan (Amanda) Hauler, her very good friends – The Rolandos (particularly Jimmy), and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin 53151, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM – 11:45 AM, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
