Myung Ja “Ming” Smith
– Passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2025 at age 86.
She was the loving mother of Jim (Krista) Smith and Gina (Mike) Lembezeder. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Mikey Lembezeder. She is survived by other relatives including her sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is survived by her four legged friend Max. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Gene Smith and her parents. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Ming was born in South Korea with humble beginnings and moved to the United States at age 19 to begin her adult life. She was known for her ability to grow things. She grew her life, she grew her marriage, she grew her children, she grew her gardens, she grew her plants and flowers, and she helped to grow lots of other children. She was affectionately known to most as “Auntie.”
Ming had a passion and love for life and making the best of what she had. She was fearless, strong, hardworking, generous, and kind.
Visitation from 12:00 PM – 2:45 PM, followed by a service at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park on Monday, April 21, 2025.
