Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, at age 49 surrounded by family. Loving father of Juleon and Maxx, cherished son of Jim and Diana and special brother of Susan McGinnis-Christie. Also loved by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and friends.

Born in West Allis, Mike grew up in Hales Corners where he graduated from Whitnall High School. He went on to attend The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and later graduated from the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. Mike’s passion for photography grew from the time he shot school pictures and high school sporting events until he photographed professional sports and presidential campaigns. Most of all, Mike loved his family. Photographs of family members were among his most prized possessions.

Visitation will be at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 12:15 PM, followed by eulogies at 12:30 PM and a lunch at 1:00 PM.

My heartfelt condolences for the loss of Mike. I knew Mike from the VIP and Network Photography days. He was always so professional, so kind, and just a great, great guy. He came to my parent's house and photographed the house and some of the contents to prepare them for auction. I treasure those photos and the memory of his generosity in taking the time to do that for me. We had many healthy conversations over messenger as well. May your memories of him bring you peace.

Words don't help in this situation, but we are here for you always. Wishing we could be with you guys today, sending the biggest hugs from far away.

Mike had The greatest smile and the best bear hug. I always looked forward to receiving. He honored me by calling me mom number two. He and Chad were childhood friends for over 40 years.. Whenever he’d come to Arizona to do spring training photography, he would stay with me and help me make fresh lemonade. Concentrate. It was our thing.🥰. I will miss him terribly as we all will. Rest in peace, my precious son number two.

Just can't shake this. Love this kid. Spent some time with Danette to share stories about why this kid was so special and funny and charming and witty. I don't know if anyone else wrote about this kid but he truly was a legend. I often joked that one day when I grow up and I don't think we have yet. Sorry for all who have been affected by his loss. Love to you all.

After 37 years of teaching, there are a little over a handful of students I remember, Michael and, of course, Susan in her pretty little dresses are two of them. Mike was all boy, full of life and fun to have in my class. I like to say he was one of my "fritzes!" Please know that I am unable to be with you in person to say goodbye to him nor to give all of you a hug as I am out of town, but I am so so sorry for your loss. RIP Mike! Much love to all. I was saddened to hear the news this morning. I worked with Mike at the Whitehouse and on the Trump campaign. He would always make me laugh no matter how stressful the situation was. We had fun and shared wonderful memories posing behind the microphone in the interview room at the Whitehouse. Make sure there's some "schnacks" when we meet again. I'll miss our conversations. Rest Well friend!

Mike was such a great friend to me in middle and high school. He was one of the sweetest and kindest, and I will never forget that. We had so much fun skating on his quarter pipe in his back yard- so many great memories. To all of you lovey family members- I am so sorry for your loss- Mike was so young this hurts my heart. Sending love and hugs and prayers for peace and comfort and strength.

Mike was a wonderful inspiration and mentor to me. He helped me immensely to build my photography career. I will be forever grateful, his memory and passion for photography will live on forever. Much love from Chicago.

I am so sorry to hear the terrible news about Mike. We went to high school together and I always enjoyed hanging around him! He was such a funny, kind, care-free guy with a great smile! He got along with everybody and never seemed to judge them. He truly was a great guy. I am so sorry that he had to leave all of you too soon.

Mike is the best of friends. I found such delight in him just being around. He was so impressive, and has so much talent. But I was more so impressed with his absolute simple attention to his brother. He knew how to love harder than anything else, and I will love him in that forever.
