Nolder, Matthias William
Born February 3, 1992, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the age of 33 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Beloved son of Elizabeth and Jeffrey. Cherished twin brother of Lindsay and future brother-in-law of Sam Redmond, and brother of Katrina (Edgar) Nolder Padilla. Adored uncle of Gracemarie Padilla Nolder. Dear nephew of Margaret and Terrence “Auntie Margie and Uncle Terry” Lychwick, Sharon “Auntie Sharon” (William) Wachal, and James Michael “Uncle Mike” Nolder and Michele Cheyne. Loving cousin to Stacie and Michael Lewis, Kelly and Shawn Stender, Wendie Hauschild, Mandie Theodore and Kerry Guinn, Adam and Stephanie Nolder, and Abby Nolder. Adored friend to so, so many. Grateful for the chance to reunite with Erma and James “Gram and Pap” Nolder, Margaret and William “Mana and Papa” Wachal, and William “Uncle Billy” Wachal.
Matthias loved his family and his friends fiercely and selflessly. He took his roles as son, brother, and uncle very seriously, always trying to achieve the perfect balance of caring for his parents, sisters, and niece while keeping them on their toes. He took great pride in being the “older” brother to his twin sister Lindsay (by 5 minutes) and in being called “Uncle Matt” by his niece Gracemarie. Matthias also felt a deep affection for all animals, who were drawn to his gentle and kind nature. Piper, Luna, Diamond, and Blue will miss him dearly. He also enjoyed meeting and caring for many of the animals at the Milwaukee County Zoo while working there as a horticulturist. He found so much joy in his landscaping and arbory work, and in the bonds he built in his 10+ years working there.
Matthias also enjoyed traveling. He loved exploring his roots in and around Beaver, Pennsylvania, and discovered peace and inspiration in the Hawaiian islands and culture. He hoped to one day move there and treasured the trips he took there with his parents. Matthias was a champion of all Pittsburgh sports teams and was never far from one of his precious jerseys, his Terrible Towels, or his Bad Call Brick. He loved sports, having spent much of his childhood on the soccer field and watching Pittsburgh games with his dad. Matthias was also the most loyal and enthusiastic fan of the band Queen you’ve probably ever met. Matthias was a graduate of Whitnall High School in Greenfield, Class of 2010, and Milwaukee Area Technical College, Class of 2015.
Matthias’s celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Krause Funeral Home, located at 12401 West National Avenue in New Berlin, Wisconsin. There will be a gathering from 12:00 PM – 3:45 PM, followed immediately by a memorial service from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
