Louise E. Dieck (nee Bisser) passed away February 22, 2025, at age 95 in her home in Fox Point.
Louise is survived by her daughter Gayle (Ian Bigger) of Glenview, IL, son Jonathan of Fox Point, husband Arlyn, and sisters-in-law Karen Bisser and Beverly Stoltz. Louise is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Closest to her were her nieces, Tina (David) Skarsten, Cindy Bisser, and Janet Bisser, great niece Rachel (Murad) Skarsten-Karim, and great nephew Jared Skarsten. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Frieda (Pollex) Bisser, brother Fred Bisser Jr., sister Alice Gazecki, brother-in-law, James Gazecki and other family members.
Louise was born in Borth, WI. As the oldest child, she helped with the family farm, and worked for a time at Oshkosh B’Gosh. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Intermediate Education from UW Oshkosh. While there, she met Arlyn Dieck, a fellow student. They were married in Oshkosh in 1955 and then moved to Milwaukee where they both were teachers for Milwaukee Public Schools.
They moved to Fox Point to be in an excellent school district, choosing a house one block away from a grade school. Louise later left teaching to be a stay-at-home mom. She always put her family first, and had a perpetual smile that was contagious. She was a Room Mother for her children’s classes, chaperoning field trips (even hiking Devil’s Lake) and providing treats. Her children’s classmates fondly remembered her baking (e.g. cherry pie for Washington’s Birthday) long after they left grade school.
After her children were grown, Louise embarked on a new career in customer service, primarily working with Hunt Marketing. The strong work ethic she learned at a young age, along with her genuine interest in helping people, led her to be exceptional at this work.
Louise found joy in spending time with loved ones and in her hobbies. A devoted member of Fox Point Lutheran Church, Louise volunteered in the church library and helped with communion. She also enjoyed gardening; she and Arlyn had a large vegetable garden, and she created gorgeous perennial flower gardens at her home. Last, but not least, Louise was a football fan, especially of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. She also enjoyed watching the NFL draft and her favorite quarterback prospects.
Louise was a positive force in the world, and her memory will live on with her family and loved ones. Visitation will be Saturday, March 15, 2:00-3:45 pm at Krause Funeral Home, 7001 W. Brown Deer Rd., Milwaukee WI, with a funeral service at 4:00 pm.
