Dr. Leonard Ezrow died on January 24th, 2021 of complications from Covid-19. He passed away at home in Menomonee Falls, WI, where he enjoyed the latter years of his retirement.
Lenny spent the majority of his childhood in Maplewood, NJ and later returned there to raise his children with his wife Hjordis Ezrow. They were married for 44 years until her passing in 2009. He was the loving father of Jonathan, Kenneth and Lawrence Ezrow and is survived by seven grandchildren who brought him great joy.
Born in Irvington, NJ, he attended Columbia High School, class of 1947, in Maplewood. He later graduated from Hobart College before receiving an M.D. in from the Chicago Medical School in 1958 and a PhD in Physiology from The Ohio State University in 1960. Dr. Ezrow was a dedicated pathologist who worked at several hospitals in New Jersey and New York over the course of his career, including St. Claire’s Hospital, Newark Beth Israel and Irvington General Hospital, his birthplace.
