Latisha “Tish” Aikens

Latisha “Tish” Kathryn Ada Aikens, born on August 29, 1975, in Milwaukee, WI, to her mother, Norma Aikens, was the youngest of her three siblings (Kevin Aikens, James Aikens, and Darryl Aikens ). She was dearly loved and cared for by her brothers. Latisha received her education from Hamilton High School in Milwaukee, WI. Her professional journey was marked by dedication and hard work. She enlisted in the U.S. military in 1996, serving as a logistic specialist supplying troops with military vehicles and equipment until her honorable discharge in 2004. She then furthered her education to receive her CNA certification.

Latisha worked as a CNA at Luther Manor for 13 years and was loved by her co-workers and residents. In 2015, she became a correctional Officer (sheriff) for the Milwaukee County Jail. In 2018, she moved to the Milwaukee County Courthouse facility unit. Everyone said, “She always smiled and made everyone feel welcome and heard.”

Latisha was a loving mother with two children, Erin and Matthew. She supported them from childhood to early adulthood, always putting them first. She had a zest for life, enjoying music, Marvel movies, concerts, and travel. Her love for making people smile and her storytelling to bring laughter to everyone were a testament to her caring nature. She always put others before herself.

After fighting the battle of cancer for 14 years, Latisha was born to eternal life on Sunday, July 14th, 2024. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ada Aikens, grandfather Adell Aikens; her uncles, Charles Padgett, Ralph Aikens, and Larry Aikens; her aunts, Linda Aikens, Mary Aikens, and cousins, Sherell Armstrong and Tommy Katherine.

Latisha leaves to cherish her memory: mother Norma Aikens, daughter Erin Henderson, son Matthew Henderson Jr, three brothers Kevin Aikens, James Aikens, and Darryl Aikens, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation from 11:00 AM – 12:45 PM, followed by a service at 1:00 PM, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Krause Funeral Home, 7001 West Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Interment in Graceland Cemetery at 2:30 PM, with reception back at the funeral home afterward.
