Judith “Judy” Rachel Dascenzo (nee Kohlhardt) beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, at 95 years, of New Berlin, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at the Grand Hills Castle at 1 PM on Friday November 17, 2023. Judith was born on October 26, 1928 to Gladyce (Bobke) Fehring (daughter of Ida and Gustave Bobke) and Frederick Kohlhardt in Milwaukee Wisconsin along with her only sibling, Gerald Charles Kohlhardt. She lived in Oak Creek, Milwaukee and Wauwatosa Wisconsin as a young girl. She graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1946. She worked at Bobke Paint (her family business) while in school. Judith met August Frank Dascenzo at the age of 17, and married him two years later on July 10th 1948. They began a family and had four wonderful daughters. Patricia Rae, Roxanne Marie, Jo Ellen Sue and Cheryl Lynn. Judith devoted her days into raising and caring for her daughters and at the same time taking care of all advertising responsibilities for Bobke Paint, and filling in at the main office.
Judith was a member of the West Allis Music Club, because of her love of music, she made sure her daughters received lessons on musical instruments of their choosing throughout their school years. Judith was proficient on the piano along with the organ, accordion and autoharp, which was self-taught. Judith also was involved in the West Allis Women’s’ Cub and the children’s schools PTA, presiding as president for many years.
Judith was a born-again Christian and she put her faith into action. She became a prayer warrior for her family and friends. She saw the needs of others around her and shared her resources through service to them. She embodied and lived out the Gospel of the New Testament. Judith was involved with Bethel Bethany church in Milwaukee along with Spring Hill United Church of Christ in Spring Hill, Florida where she and August became SnowBirds, and then permanent residents of Florida for 19 years. At both Churches, Judith headed many committees to help with the managing of the church, many times cooking for fundraisers, to even cleaning the church along with August. She sang with the choir weekly and was involved with the Gulf Coastal Choir in Florida, along with singing in her churches yearly Christmas and Easter cantata. Judith had many hobbies including reading, crocheting (winning awards at the county fair for her work) stamp collecting, playing cards, board games and fishing. She was a collector of angels. Judith had a love of cooking, and was a fabulous entertainer at home and for the church.
Preceding her in death were her parents Gladyce (Bobke) Kohlhardt Fehring and Frederick Kohlhardt, Brother Gerald (Bud) Charles Kohlhardt and Loving husband August Frank Dascenzo. Judith is survived by her Daughter Patricia (Gordon) Pierce, granddaughter – Jonelle Chovanec, Daughter Roxanne Dunkelberger, granddaughter – Natalie (Scott) Edelkamp, great grandchildren Alex and Ella Edelkamp grandson Nathan Dunkelberger, Daughter Jo Ellen Dascenzo, granddaughter Rachel (Eric) Agans, great-grandsons Chase and Anthony Agans, grandson Justin (Courtney) Gruenwald, great granddaughters Madilyn and Hanna Gruenwald and great grandson Riley Gruenwald, Daughter Cheryl Dascenzo, Granddaughter Haley La Savage, Grandson Daniel La Savage, great granddaughters Julianna La Savage and Brooklyn Scheid, granddaughter Sheila La Savage, great granddaughters Olive and Charlie Weber. Along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday December 10, 2023 from 10:30 AM– 12:45 PM at Krause Funeral Home 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
