Joe Grilli, 92, found peace after a battle with dementia on June 12, 2024. He took his last breath surrounded by his family.
Joe was born in Milwaukee to the late Emil and Frances Grilli.
Joe will be greeted in heaven by his beloved wife Alvina (nee Kosper).
Alvina Grilli, 80, found peace on June 11, 2015, from cancer.
Alvina was born in Milwaukee to the late Earnest and Marie Kosper.
Joe and Alvina were loving parents to Joey (Susie), Bobby (Mary), Johnny (Patti).
Fond grandparents of Ryan (Angelica) Frank, Christopher (Allison) Stack, Joseph (Cara) Grilli, Gina (Zenneth) Nevers, and Troy (Maddy) Liptak-Grilli.
Great Grandparents of Caroline and Margot Stack, Nora and Maya Grilli, and Dylan and Isabella Nevers.
Joe is survived by Evelyn Grilli, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Alvina is survived by Don and Rose Kosper, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Joe was predeceased in death by his brother Cedric Grilli, sister Pauline Caylor.
Alvina was predeceased in death by her sister Beverly Brown, brother’s, Duane Bennett, and Kenny Bennett, and sister Shirley Schlemm.
After attending Boys Tech, Joe enlisted in the Air Force in 1951, serving 3 years with the Military Police. He retired from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, as a mechanical maintenance supervisor.
Alvina graduated from Bay View High School. She retired from Marquette University counseling center, as a receptionist.
Joe and Alvina married on May 19, 1955, and celebrated 60 years of marriage before she passed away. They moved from Milwaukee to Arkansas, then settled in Florida. They owned a cottage on Green Lake and spent much of their time boating and water skiing with family and friends. They were both avid golfers, and bowlers. Alvina also enjoyed quilting, and volunteering at the Humane Society. Joe spent his free time cheering on the Green Bay Packers. He also believed he was the king of bocce ball.
They both had a passionate love affair with a “stiff” Tanqueray and Tonic after golf.
Each year, they looked forward to the family yearly tradition of gnocchi and sauce with Carlo Rossi wine.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the team at Lakewood, and Brighton Hospice for the care given to dad over the past few years.
Gathering will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, WI 53151, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, 10:00 AM – 11:45 AM. Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM.
