Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 1, 2016, at age 74. Loving husband and best friend of Coleen (nee Kober) for 48 years. Beloved father of Ruth (Chad) Lawson and Dan (Heather) Marshall. Proud grandpa of Parker, Grant, and Luke. Dear brother of Richard (Pat) Marshall and Dianne (Stanley) Kopaczewski. Also loved by nieces, a nephew, other family and friends.

John graduated from South Division High School in Milwaukee and went on to graduate from St. Olaf College in 1964. He joined Waukesha Rubber Company, Inc. in 1966 as an accountant. In 1975, he and several colleagues purchased the company and John became CFO, eventually becoming President. He sold the business in 1999 and retired in 2000. He served on the Waukesha School Board from 1982-1992, the last three of which he served as President. John was an avid model railroader and loved going to Disney World. He was also a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Brookfield.

A special thank you to the staff at Waukesha Memorial Hospital ICU for their compassionate care of John.

Visitation will be at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, on Monday, November 7, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Additional visitation at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 8, from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM. A Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jennifer Arnold presiding. Burial at Highland Memorial Park to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, HAWS, or Hope Center, Inc. of Waukesha.
