John David “Dave” Seal went home peacefully to the Lord on June 23, 2026 surrounded by family.
Dave was born in Chicago on December 1, 1930. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor Cullen Seal to whom he was married for 50 years. Loving father to Leslie Seal Finley, Lila (Kelly Powers) Seal, and Dana (Pete) Schumacher. Very proud grandfather of Kathryn (Michael Stein) Finley, David (Megan Dale) Finley, Emily (Kirk) Dennison, Megan (John) Buglass, Peter Schumacher, Marissa Powers and Mark Powers and adoring great grandfather to Wyatt, Silas, Mia, Chloe and Jayden Dennison, Ernie, Eleanor and Sully Buglass, Levi and Genevieve Stein and Marin and Henry Finley. Along with his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, four sisters, one brother, one grandson, and many dear friends. He was called the last of the Mohicans.
Dave enjoyed telling a great story, remodeling his beautiful Brookfield home and taking care of his spacious yard. What brought the most joy to his later life was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of his life is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. There will be a visitation from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to a service beginning at 3:00 PM.
