Jimmie D. Claypool

Today, February 13, 2025, the light went out of one of Gods angels, Jimmie Deloris (Burkhalter) Claypool.

Jimmie was proceeded in death by both her parents Jim & Minnie Berkhalter.

She was born March 20, 1935 in Jefferson Davis County, Prentiss, MS. Jimmie attended Jefferson Davis County Public Schools and graduated from Prentiss Normal & Industrial Institute.

She moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin met and married Sherman Claypool, they later divorced. From that union produced two daughters Jacqueline (Claypool) Hayes (Johnnie) Columbia,SC and Monica Claypool Milwaukee, WI.

Jimmie was a great seamstress, she worked tirelessly at Eagle knitting for over 30 years. As well being a co-owner operator of McDonalds Restaurants a long side her husband for many years.

She joined Mt. Carmel M.B. Church in Prentiss MS at an early age. She later became a faithful member of the Sharon Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Milwaukee WI.

She had three grandchildren: John Mitchell Hayes, Danielle Hayes and Jeffrey L. McClain III.

Seven great grand-children: John Cameron Hayes, Giani DeLaRosa, Zahara Hayes, Khaliah Hayes, Anayah Hayes, Imani Cook and Khalani M Cook.

Remaining siblings: Bobby Hammond (Carl) Milwaukee WI. Willene Jones (Charlie) Prentiss MS.

She was preceded in death by her brothers & sisters; Xavier Berkhalter (Doretha) Chicago IL, Jack Berkhalter (Bessie) Prentiss MS., Robert Berkhalter Prentiss MS., L.J. Berkhalter (Helen) Prentiss MS. and Paul Berkhalter Milwaukee WI., Voncile Berkhalter Prentiss, MS., Bernice Lott (Coy) Prentiss MS. and Charlene Barnes San Francisco CA.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 7001 West Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial on Monday, March 3, at Graceland Cemetery, at 11:00 AM.
