Following Service.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jim Kuntner, who departed this life peacefully on June 21, 2025, at the age of 86. Jim was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His passing comes just one day after the death of his beloved wife, Lea Rae.

Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Marcie Kuntner, who passed away from cancer on April 22, 1994. He later found love again and was a devoted husband to his late wife, Lea Rae Kuntner, with whom he shared almost 27 wonderful years of marriage before her passing on June 20, 2025. He was a loving father to his children, Joe Kuntner (Nicole Conard) of Denver, CO and Sharon Sanchez of West Des Moines, IA, loving grandfather to Will and Henry Kuntner, Ryan and Laura Choplick, and Megan and Jason Noggle, and great grandfather to Everist See and Davis Noggle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Kuntner, and his sisters, Therese Goethel, Dolores Skiba and Mary Jane Klein. Jim is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jim was born on July 28, 1938, in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Marquette University with a degree in accounting and business and went on to have a meaningful career at Oster. Outside of his professional life, Jim was an avid golfer and a passionate Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan. He enjoyed spending his summers “up north” on a lake, where he loved to golf, fish, and spend time with his family. A devoted Catholic, Jim created meaningful relationships for many years at St. Margaret Mary parish in Milwaukee, including the bowling leagues and the Boy Scouts. Later in life, Jim and Lea Rae created similar ties at St. William’s parish in Waukesha.

Rounding out their life together, Jim and Lea Rae found their happy place as snowbirds for over a dozen years in Fort Myers, FL among the Del Tura community. Many hours of playing tennis, golfing, and socializing with their neighbors provided them so much joy, which will never be forgotten.

Jim’s impact of love, integrity, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived, full of joy and profound connections. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
