Reunited with his darling wife Judy on October 10, 2016 at age 81. Loving father of Joanne (the late Richard) Kopca, Michael (Janine), and Robert (Cathy) Menger. Proud Grandpa of Michael, Katherine (Sarah), Anthony, James (fiancee Sarah), Nick, and Scotty; and great-Grandpa of Mason and Breanna. Cherished brother of Janet (Roger) Coons, the late Joseph Gordon, and John Menger. Further survived by other family members and friends.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 6:45 PM. Funeral service to follow, at 7:00 PM. Interment Wisconsin Memorial Park, Saturday, October 15th, please meet at the Funeral Home at 11:30 AM for procession to the cemetery.

Jim proudly served as a Milwaukee Police officer for 34 ½ years. His family would like to extend a special thanks to Christa, Morgan, and Jackie for their compassionate care.

My Uncle James meant so much to me. He was always fun to be around, very thoughtful, caring and special to everyone who knew him. I loved his sense of humor, wit and devious charm. I loved his pranks at picnics on the 4th of July lighting off some type of firecracker - M80's usually. I will miss him dearly; I loved him so much and he'll always have a place in my heart. He was the silver fox. xoxoxox

My dad was the most kind and gentle person I have ever known. I will miss his smile, his laugh, and his sense of humor. As a young girl I was always afraid of his dying, especially when he would go hunting or to his door county trip for the coast guard. And now he has left us. While I am relieved for his escape from the boundaries of his body, I suffer the loss of "my daddy". I will forever love you sweet "poopsie". Forever in my heart. XO
