“Lee” Harvie J. Arberry was born on March 23, 1948 to the union of Luther Sr. And Lena Bell Arberry of Stephens Arkansas. The youngest child in his family, he was loved by his siblings and cousins. Lee received his education in the Arkansas school system, graduating from Stephens High School. After graduation Lee attended college, working towards a degree in political science, before being drafted into active duty during the Vietnam War.
Following an honorable discharge from the Army with a rank of Sergeant, Lee moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and found work with his brothers. While there, he fell in love with Gwendolyn Sutton and they were joined in holy matrimony on January 20, 1973. This union was blessed with six children: three boys and three girls.
Lee accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, along with many other family members. Lee loved watching sports, hunting, fishing, and telling good jokes. He loved taking care of his family and spoiling his grandchildren most of all.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents: Luther Sr. & Lena Bell; his brothers: Luther Jr., Billy Ray Sr., James, and William “Punch”; his sisters: Sandy, Ruth “Mutt”, May Francis and Velma.; and 5
grandchildren.
Lee leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Gwendolyn; sons: Damon, Darrin, Julius; his daughters: Debracca, Pearlena, and Alisa (Ricky) Cooks, all of Milwaukee, WI; his sister Louise of Hope AR; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 8:00 AM – 10:45 AM at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM. Private interment at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
