Gloria Lorraine Scott, beloved mother to 5 of Milwaukee, WI, passed away in her home from her 13-year battle of cancer.
She was born June 7th, 1958, in Victoria Jubilee, Kingston, Jamaica to Geddis Mae and Joseph Silbourne Scott. She is the second born of 13 to Joseph and Geddis. Gloria attended Greenwich Primary and Haile Selassie Secondary before graduating from Durham College and Kingston Business College with a focus on business. Gloria a thriving businesswoman, so, great, she instructed others in her passion. She was an entrepreneur to the bone and would encourage others to work for what they wanted.
Gloria was a firm believer and dedicated her life to Christ. Her faith was her foundation, and she walked by it until her last breath. She stood strong in all that she did, never wavering due to her determination and faith. If she doubted herself, you would not know. She had a love of shopping and had a humor like no other. When she joined a conversation, you were either going to laugh or be told about yourself. Yet, she was so humble and private. To know her is to respect and love her. You knew where you stood with her as she was transparent.
Gloria was a devoted mother to Richard, Kemar, Shanice, Danique, and Kienna. Gloria took pride in being a mother. She not only mothered her own children but those that were close to her. She took pride in her home and family. Gloria was exceptionally clean and would rise before the birds to get her day started. She was an excellent cook and would ensure that everyone eating would have an equal share of food, down to the grain of rice. She would often say she is going to use her hands to make fashion in the kitchen. When Gloria was younger, she loved to whine up her body to dancehall music, even in her last days she requested to listen to Spice.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Geddis and Joseph; her son, Richard; and brothers Leon and George.
She is survived by son Kemar Stewart (Jessica, Kemar Jr); daughters, Shanice Kukuck (Joel, Amaiyah, Wyatt, Mason); Danique (Tayden, Isiah, Noah); Kienna; and Riahnna and Giahnna (Daughters of Richard). Sisters; Cherry, Elaine, Pauline, Dawn, Paulette, Charmaine, Paula Carmen (Lucky). Brothers; Michael, Nevil, Tony, and Mark. And a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
