Gary found eternal peace at his home on May 19, 2023. He was born on October 16, 1954, in Springfield, Illinois to the late Mary Evelyn (nee Harper) Strowig and Clarence Strowig Sr. He grew up in the small town of Petersburg, Illinois, later moving to Milwaukee and attending Alexander Hamilton Senior High School.
During high school, Gary excelled in gymnastics where he placed second in State for the rings and pommel horse. He continued his interest in fitness and nutrition for the rest of his life, including using a pommel horse in his home until well into his fifties.
In his career, Gary held the position of journeyman draftsman. He worked at several companies, including many years at Allis-Chalmers in West Allis.
Gary was a lover of various types of music, from 60s and 70s rock, to classical and Christian. He loved his vast collection of album vinyl and resisted the transition to digital. He also was an avid Packers fan for his entire life. Further, Gary was an ardent Christian throughout his adult life.
Gary is predeceased by his mother, father, and brother Clarence “CJ” Strowig Jr. He is survived by his sister Linda (Bill) Remm and brother Greg (Lynn) Strowig as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
