Freddie Joseph Cherry was born on December 11, 1940 to the union of Robert Cherry and Pearl Mae Fariman of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1941 with his sister Erma Cherry, departing with his older brother Raymond Cherry who stayed in North Little Rock. He then received his education in Milwaukee, Wisconsin attending St. Benedict, and Roosevelt High School. Freddie's first employment was with the United States Air Force, while following in the footsteps of his fore father and uncles. Freddie also worked at a gas station on 20th and Walnut in 1960. This is where he met and united in holy matrimony to Barbara Price of Bush, Louisiana. To this union was born three children; Mark Cherry, Kimberly Cherry, and Johathan Cherry, all residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Freddie J. Chery departed this life on January 1, 2014. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Joseph Cherry and Grandmother Carline Brooks Cherry. Father Robert Cherry & mother Pearl Nixon, one brother Raymond Cherry and a host of relatives.
Freddie leaves to cherish his memory to one sister, Erma Cherry, M. who resides in Oakland, California, wife, Barbara Cherry, and two sons, Mark and Jonathan Cherry, three daughters' Gail Gibson Williams (Darrick) Kim Cherry Pierce & Vic Tellis, and Fredina Harris all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Freddie leaves to cherish his memory & legacy to 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends across the Southern and Northern States.
Service for Freddie J. Cherry will resume in North Little Rock, Arkansas, where he will be laid to rest beside his mother and brother in the family cemetery.
