I was at the service, but didn't get a chance to meet any of the family. I shared the obituary with Margret Ochsenreiter and her family in Germany. Eric and I have known her for twenty some years, and he visited them on several occasions. They would very much like to send a message. I'm afraid I don't have contact information on Eric's sisters or brother. Any help would be appreciated.

My condolences to Eric's family and friends. Although I didn't have the pleasure to know Eric well. I lived in the same Condo Complex. My late husband and I moved in March of 2019. Ten days later my husband suddenly passed away without warning and Eric was kind enough to come to my home to personally give his condolences and asked me if there was anything he could help with. I thought God has blessed me with a wonderful neighbor and soon I found out that most of our neighbors are also equally as wonderful. I am just sorry I didn't get a chance to know him better. God will be blessed with Erics kindness and music. Susan Carayannopoulos (Neighbor).

I am so shocked to hear about Eric‘s passing. I worked with him at Hampton elementary school our last few years of teaching. We retired together and tried to see who was going to be the first one out of the building for the last time! He won that race! I’m sad for him that he didn’t get very many years after his retirement to enjoy life. He was always very kind to me, loved to tell jokes and always brought me baked goods. My sympathies to his family on their loss.

Eric and I worked together for a few years at Metcalfe. He always had a warm word and smile for me every day. As recent as this school year he reached out to me trying to work with me again but no openings. Metcalfe was always his home. He will always be a part of our happy memories. Thank you for sharing him with us. He will be loved and missed. Principal Gladney

We want to express our sincere sympathy to Eric's family and friends. We very much enjoyed playing concerts and parades with Eric as part of the Hartford City Band. I will miss sitting next to him playing clarinet. We both have fond memories of the times spent playing and socializing with Eric. He was a wonderful person.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I met Eric through the Hartford City Band. We both played the clarinet. He was so much fun to be with and we joked around a lot. It makes me sad that I won't have that any more. I will miss you, Eric, and your happy face. Kimberly Terry

I met Eric when he joined the Hartford City Band. We connected thru music & our friendship grew over the years. He often borrowed my van to move things & let me drive his car, especially the Jaguar! I will miss his generosity, sense of humor and his compassion for life & our times together. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace Eric.

Oh how we will miss our dear friend Eric. We will always remember his charm, wit, enthusiasm, and our great conversations on the many occasions he visited us here in Sister Bay. What a talented man. He leaves a huge void in our lives.

Eric was an Election Inspector for the Village of Jackson and was going to work today for the Spring Primary. His passing was a shock to us all and he will be dearly missed. Eric always appreciated the work done by the Clerk's staff to administer elections. His kind and thoughtful words meant so much to me. I enjoyed talking to him and hearing his interesting stories. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Eric was a joy in my life. He was one of my student teachers (special needs students) and brought a lot of joy and fun into the classroom. He had an infectious personality and lit up the room. We remained friends, even after his commitment to student teaching and because he knew I loved popcorn, would often bring me a huge bag of popcorn and visit very often. No one else did that. We remained friends forever. His death was a shock and forever sorrow. I will miss him❤️. Love forever.

Eric also gave of himself with the Milwaukee Letter Carriers' Band - a community band performing for seniors at independent and assisted living centers. He played baritone horn some years ago and when he reconnected with this community band a few years ago he played clarinet. With his participation through 2019 he helped entertain several thousand seniors with live band music performances at their residence facilities. I also knew Eric from his brief participation in a German car club. He was smart, witty and made friends easily. He made an good impression where ever he was. He will be missed.

I met Eric when he was 18 and we were both taking ballroom dance lessons at Dick Shore Dance Studio in downtown Milwaukee. I invited him to join the Hartford City Band and the rest is History! (I was the director of the band.) This past Christmas I sent Eric a picture of the two of us on my wedding day. I last saw Eric at Germanfest the summer of 2019. I can't believe I don't get another chance to visit with him. He didn't get to enjoy enough days of his retirement from teaching.

My deepest condolences to Eric's family and his dear friends. We were his neighbors and we'll certainly miss the German music we could hear when both of our patio doors were open in summer. I know he's happily playing in the presence of our Lord. Marc and Nancy Plier

Eric was such a nice person and he would come down to my house in North Chicago with my cousin and help us move what we needed to the park for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. He was family and we will truly miss him.
