Liz was born to Anthony and Mary Glapa in a German forced labor camp during World War II. After the war, she emigrated with her family to the Milwaukee area, where she spent the rest of her life. It was there she met the love of her life, Tom, with whom she shared 49 wonderful years of marriage and raised five children.
Liz took immense pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She worked for many years as a cashier at various grocery stores, most recently at Fresh Thyme, where she was more than just a co-worker—she was a mentor, a trusted colleague, and a true friend to many.
She opened her home to many pet dogs and will be missed by her loyal companion, Tucker.
Though she is no longer with us, her love and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Visitation from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM with a remembrance at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
