Doug was a wonderful musician, a jovial person who made everyone laugh and a true humanitarian! He love to surround himself with people who seemed to enjoy his company. We remember the great times at Zur Kron. The wonderful Christmas parties he had there. We remember the folkdancing and his wonderful accordion playing! Doug will surely be missed by all whose lives were truely affected by him. Our deepest condolences to his family at this very difficult time.

I served in the Army with Doug in Herbornseelbach, Germany in 1971-1972. Had many of good times together. Doug was a great great guy to know since he could speak and understand German a lot better than the rest of the GIs. Doug and my self occasionally chatted on Facebook. I want to extend my condolences to the family and relatives of Doug. He was a great guy who I will miss.
