Michael Strelitzer left a message on February 6, 2024:
To all the kids of Mr. D and Mrs. D, I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mum and Dad were the surrogote parents in our 91st Street neighborhood. Truly wonderful folks. Your Mum was the best. Your Dad too. We all lose track over time of those special people we grew up admiring, like your parents. I remember playing basketball with "Mr. D" in the alley behind your house. Even with his gimpy leg, he was like playing against a pro. He'd kick our butts, all of us youngsters. I remeber your Mom always being cheerful, always the "Earth Mother" of the neighborhood. She bandaged my skinned knees countless times. She will never be forgotten, as long as there are those of us who keep her in our hearts.

I am so honored to have had the opportunity to meet Dorothy. She was so kind. I loved hearing her memories of the "old" days and the years of growing up. She was a great story teller. My condolences to her family.
