Don was a 1952 graduate of Lowden High School in Iowa. He proudly served his country as an Airborne Radio Repairman in the European Theater as a member of the US Air Force from 1953-1957. He was a dedicated member of American Legion Post 449 and of Amvets of WI. He worked at the Wauwatosa Rec. Department for over 20 years as an umpire and as a score keeper for the men's basketball league. Brewers baseball was his passion and he supported the team as a parking lot attendant. He was well known for his great sense of humor and for his devotion to his children and family. He and his wife Cindy lovingly opened their home to 6 foster children.
A Memorial Service will be held at First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa, 1511 Church Street, Milwaukee, on Saturday, March 12, at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to The American Diabetes Association or Katy's Kloset.
