Donald Eugene Lewis, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026.
Donald was the beloved husband of Donna, with whom he shared 70 wonderful years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Lewis and Vera (Larson) Lewis.
Donald is lovingly survived by his daughter, Debra; his grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda), Emma (Jake), and Hannah (Michael); his beloved great-grandchildren, Wesley, Andrew, Emerson, Quinn, and Raeya; his sisters, Ellen, widow of Jake, and Virgie, widow of Harold; his late brother, Gary (Claire); his late sister, Sharon; his sister-in-law, Jean, widow of Anthony; and many cherished nieces and nephews, including Eileen (Kerrie), Karen (Mike), Gary, Wayne, Jeff (Annie), David (Dawn), Kathy (Paul), Dan (Lisa), David (Gayle), Angie, and Shawn. Donald also leaves behind many beloved extended family members and treasured friends who held a special place in his heart.
Donald was born on November 15, 1933, in Wesby, Wisconsin. He spent his childhood in Rockford, Illinois, before returning to Wisconsin, where he attended high school in Sparta while also working on the family farm. He especially enjoyed playing the tuba during his high school years. Those early experiences instilled in him a strong work ethic, humility, and a deep appreciation for family and the outdoors.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked as a designer’s draftsman at Allis-Chalmers before continuing his career at Magnetek until his retirement.
In 1956, Donald married the love of his life, Donna. Together they shared 70 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering devotion to one another.
Family was always Donald’s greatest joy. He was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather. A man of strong Christian faith, Donald faithfully served his church as both an usher and an elder. His quiet servant’s heart and willingness to help others reflected the values by which he lived.
Donald found peace in God’s creation. He especially enjoyed spending time at the family cottage up north, where he loved the outdoors, watching wildlife, and feeding the birds.
Those who knew Donald will remember his quiet strength, gentle spirit, kind heart, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. Whether sharing a clever remark or simply enjoying time with those he loved, he had a special way of bringing smiles to those around him. He led by example, showing faithfulness, humility, kindness, and compassion throughout his life.
Donald will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, proud veteran, faithful servant of God, and a man who found joy in life’s simple blessings. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly and the many lives he touched.

He will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed by all whose lives he touched.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 22, at Grace Lutheran Church, W196N9525 Cross View Way, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051. Visitation: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Funeral Service at Noon. Luncheon to follow at the church.
