Dale (Dino) Manesis was a spirited and adventurous man with an intense zest for life. His love for the past and nostalgia enriched his journey, and those around him. An avid collector of comic books, movie magazines, and other rare collectables from the 1920s, 30s and 40s, he was constantly on the hunt to find new treasures. He possessed a deep affinity for politics, wrote hundreds of editorials, had a passion for history, mastered the English vocabulary, watched and adored hundreds of old period films, craved reading, and was surprisingly skilled at playing a peppy game of ping pong. As an entrepreneur, he founded The Good Old Days, The 40s Bar, and Maggie and Jiggs. He is survived by his loving wife, Dina; his children (Nick, Dan, George and Christine) and their families; his mother, siblings, cousins, and other relatives and loved ones. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, served in the US army, and graduated from the University of Denver. Dale entered into eternal life on March 21st at the age of 83.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2160 North Wauwatosa Avenue, Milwaukee, on Friday, March 25th at 1:00pm.
