I was a student of Mrs. Krajcik back in the late 90's. She was my kindergarten teacher. I was a troubled child but Mrs. Krajcik was understanding of that and was always sweet but stern. When I was in high school, I would visit Mrs. Krajcik occasionally at Clarke St school to update her about my life. For the last 7 years or so I would always try to find her online because I lost contact and wanted to update her on all of my achievements... to find out she passed is heartbreaking. She will truly be missed. I'm sure she impacted many people like myself. I send my sincere condolences to her family, friends, and students.

Wanted to speak at the funeral but couldn't. Colleen said she was inspired by my mother (her aunt) to take in foster babies. I, in turn, was inspired by Colleen to go to college and become a teacher. She earned her degree, and a masters while working and taking care of five children. Ron, I know you were a huge part of making that happen. She was my mentor, the person who always knew the best way to handle children that had difficulties. I will always be grateful to have had her in my life.

Sincerest condolences to the entire Krajcik family. Some of my fondest memories include time spent with Colleen who was a colleague and friend for many years at Sherman Park Preschool, St. Catherine’s and at MPS. Colleen and I did trainings for MPS, sharing our passion for helping teachers support children’s learning. She was an extraordinarily bright, kind, wise and beautiful soul who was devoted to her family and all children. As time passes, may you find comfort in your many memories of her. May she rest In peace.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Ron and I along with five guys attended school or were in CYO at St Stephen Parish on 51 Blvd in the mid 50's. As time went by the guys got married and included the wives and new friends into the group. They all were married for life. I remember when Ron met Colleen. He was smitten not only by her good looks but also by her wit and spunk. They made a perfect couple. They loved children and in addition to their own kids opened their hearts to foster kids and Colleen also loved the kids she taught at Clarke St School. The many changes and responsibilities of life occur but we remain close in spirit. We lost Bill then recently Dick and now Colleen. We believe through our Christian Faith that they are in Eternity with Our Lord. Our deepest condolences to you Ron and your entire family. Love always. Idka and Andy Rajec

I’m so sorry about the death of Colleen. She was such s kind, inspirational person. I supervised UWM student teachers in her classroom. She was a wonderful cooperating teacher. She mentored the student teachers in a passionate way. She showed them how precious children were and how important it was to make connections with their families. I admired her greatly and was always in awe of her dedication to the profession. We have certainly lost a champion for children.

There are not enough words to describe my sister, Colleen. The first one that comes to mind is nurturing. She was my “second Mom” during my childhood and when I became a mother, she was my trusted advisor and my support. Her love for her family, her energy and her love for her community carried her through whatever the world put in her path. She was not just a teacher in school , but also a teacher in life. My heart and my prayers are with her children and with Ron Please remember that she is never far away. The lessons we learned and the things that we shared live on in all of us.

I had the great fortune of working with Colleen at Clarke Street School from 1998-2002 and found her to be humble, passionate, calm and supportive of her students, parents and colleagues. I always found refuge in her classroom because of her teaching and the great environment she has created over the years. Job well done. RIP Colleen!!
