Carol Marie Sorenson entered God’s loving arms on the afternoon of December 31, 2024 at the age of 85.
She was born on January 29, 1939 in Waukesha to parents Leonard and Marie (nee Washkowitz) Stiede. Carol and her husband Bob got married on September 26th, 1959, and started their life together. They had no children of their own but became Godparents for many and treated them as if they were their own.
Carol and Bob were high school sweethearts and graduated from Waukesha High School in 1957. They briefly moved to Georgia when Bob joined the army. After returning to Waukesha, Carol soon began a 35+ year career for Waukesha County working as a secretary for the Highway Department. Carol and Bob loved to travel and saw many areas and National Parks throughout North America, also traveling to Germany. Carol had a great affection for animals of all kinds and together they were members of the Zoological Society in Milwaukee for many years. She loved to collect dolls and had an extensive collection of Cabbage Patch Dolls. Carol was a lifetime member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
Her beloved husband Bob of 53 years proceeded her in death in 2013. She is also reunited with her brother Wayne L. Stiede, her parents Leonard and Marie Stiede, brother-in-law Joseph Hildebran, sister-in-laws Helen Stiede and Patricia Stiede, amongst many other family members and friends. New Year’s Eve in Heaven must have been grand!
She is survived by her sister Joanne Hildebran, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Three-Pillars Masonic Center in Dousman for their dedicated care and compassion during these last 5 in a half years.
