Beverly was blessed with 3 devoted grandsons and their wives, surrogate granddaughters whom she loved deeply: John S. and Kate Schroder Juech, Benjamin J. and Allison (Grade) Juech, Matthew G. and Kristina (Bath) Juech. God gave Beverly the amazing gift of 6 Great-Grandchildren: Charles LeRoy, Josephine Ann, Stephen Elliott, Peter James, and most recently, twins Emily Allison & Jack Benjamin.
Dear Sister of Allen and Arlen Bird of Union, Illinois; Allene and Kenneth Friede of Muskego; Kenneth and Carol Bird of Hubertus; and Kathleen and William Hudson of West Bend. Sister-in-law of Dorothy Scherck.
Beverly was a doting Aunt and Godmother to many nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends. As the eldest in her family, Bev was the resident family historian who proudly shared the history of her family with the extended Schweninger and Bird families that she loved so dearly.
A proud lifelong resident of the city of Milwaukee, Bev adored the Sherman Park neighborhood she called home for 80 years. Bev served as the guidance secretary of Milwaukee Lutheran High School for over 40 years. She took great pride in serving the students and faculty of the high school and never forgot a student’s name or the year they graduated. Upon her retirement in 2001, Beverly was a recipient of the CUM DEO Award as a distinguished alumna and faculty member. Beverly graduated from the original Lutheran High School in 1950 and was an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church for over 70 years.
Grandma Bev was a patriot who loved her country and who engaged and consumed American history her entire life. Bev’s love for the written word leaves an everlasting legacy with all those who were lucky enough to receive one of her mailed cards or letters. Never missing the opportunity to celebrate or comfort someone, Bev’s writing and remembering was legendary. She truly never missed the opportunity to touch those she knew personally, or those she knew needed a friend or a lift.
Funeral services will take place at Mt. Calvary, 2862 North 53rd Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Friday, December 23, 2016 with visitation from 12:30 PM until the time of Service at 3:00 PM. Private burial at Union Cemetery in Colgate, WI will take place at a later date.
