Ben passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2015, at the age of 83. Beloved husband of the late Marlene (nee Jaeck). Dear father of Wendy (Tom) Conlin, Julie (Dan) Miller and Jeff Martin. Caring and loving grandfather to Ben, Jack, and Megan Miller, and Lauren and Thomas Conlin. Further survived by other relatives and close friends.
Ben was a longtime Brookfield resident and a member of St. Dominic Catholic Parish. He grew up on a farm near Little Suamico and served in the US Army. Ben spent his whole career in the construction and trade field as a carpenter building homes (including his own) and commercial remodeling. As a member of the Woodman Sportsman Club, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, trap shooting and the outdoors. After retirement he volunteered for many years as a driver for Elmbrook Hospital. Ben enjoyed driving his John Deere tractor and mowing his lawn. He had a passion for landscaping and planting flowers. Ben was known for his beautiful, giant red geraniums. Above all else, Ben loved his late wife Marlene, and over the years enjoyed the companionship of his West Highland Terriers, Muffin and Molly.
Visitation Thursday, March 5, from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM at ST. DOMINIC CATHOLIC PARISH (18255 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 PM.
In celebration of Ben's life and his love of the West Highland Terrier "Westie" dog breed, in lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wisconsin Westie Rescue (<a href="http://www.wisconsinwestierescue.com" target="_blank">www.wisconsinwestierescue.com</a>) would be appreciated.
